ARM Embedded Test Engineer Job Overview:
We are seeking a diligent and skilled Software Embedded Test Engineer to join our software quality team. In this role, you will collaborate with established teams to develop automated test solutions, ensuring the delivery of production-quality software for embedded devices. Your responsibilities will include researching and recommending appropriate testing tools, contributing to continuous integration (CI) design, and focusing on system validation to uphold software quality standards.
ARM Software Embedded Test Engineer Responsibilities:
- Develop automated test solutions in collaboration with teams working on open-source software stacks for embedded devices.
- Research and recommend suitable tooling options for various testing types and provide input on CI design and setup.
- Engage in system validation and apply general testing principles.
- Collaborate across departments to enhance testing approaches from a system validation perspective, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 2 to 5 years of experience.
- Basic understanding of the Linux kernel, system software, device drivers, and Android internals.
- Experience in writing integration and validation tests.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Bash.
- Experience with Android testing tools or testing within an Android environment.
- Knowledge of computer architecture and micro-architecture concepts, preferably related to the Arm architecture and ecosystem.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency with Git.
- Familiarity with C and C++ programming languages.
- Understanding of software debugging tools, such as gdb.
- Experience in developing or customizing automation test frameworks.
- Interest in open-source development practices.
