Johnson Controls Embedded Systems Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance embedded firmware for new and existing products.
• Design, code, and test embedded software sub-modules with minimal supervision.
• Prepare software design specifications, test plans, and feasibility studies.
• Participate in project planning, estimation, analysis, coding, and unit testing.
• Work closely with electronics, mechanical, software, and firmware engineers.
• Debug firmware using ICE, GDB, JTAG, and chip programmers.
• Support compliance, approvals, and factory testing.
• Collaborate in design and code reviews while recommending improvements to firmware development guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of experience in Embedded C, C++, microcontroller driver development.
• Strong knowledge of I2C, SPI, UART protocols, RTOS, and Embedded Linux.
• Hands-on experience with Renesas, Microchip, and ST microcontrollers preferred.
• Proficiency in analog/digital hardware, microcontrollers, and schematic design.
• Familiarity with GitHub, JIRA, or similar version control tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
• BE (ECE/EIE/ETC/EE) degree or equivalent in a technical field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of fire detection systems or similar embedded applications.
• Experience with middleware and application development.
• Self-motivated team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
