Johnson Controls Embedded Systems Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance embedded firmware for new and existing products.
- Design, code, and test embedded software sub-modules with minimal supervision.
- Prepare software design specifications, test plans, and feasibility studies.
- Participate in project planning, estimation, analysis, coding, and unit testing.
- Work closely with electronics, mechanical, software, and firmware engineers.
- Debug firmware using ICE, GDB, JTAG, and chip programmers.
- Support compliance, approvals, and factory testing.
- Collaborate in design and code reviews while recommending improvements to firmware development guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in Embedded C, C++, microcontroller driver development.
- Strong knowledge of I2C, SPI, UART protocols, RTOS, and Embedded Linux.
- Hands-on experience with Renesas, Microchip, and ST microcontrollers preferred.
- Proficiency in analog/digital hardware, microcontrollers, and schematic design.
- Familiarity with GitHub, JIRA, or similar version control tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- BE (ECE/EIE/ETC/EE) degree or equivalent in a technical field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of fire detection systems or similar embedded applications.
- Experience with middleware and application development.
- Self-motivated team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
