Job Summary:
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimize firmware for a wide range of embedded applications. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and efficient embedded solutions, contributing significantly to innovative product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and debug embedded software for microcontroller-based systems.
- Develop drivers, middleware, and application layers for various platforms (ARM Cortex, AVR, PIC, etc.).
- Implement and troubleshoot communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and USB.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers during board bring-up, validation, and testing.
- Optimize embedded system performance and memory usage.
- Write and maintain detailed firmware documentation, including design and API usage.
- Participate in code reviews, system architecture discussions, and product planning meetings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience with embedded systems and microcontroller programming.
- Proficient in C/C++ for embedded development.
- Strong knowledge of low-level hardware interfaces and debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, etc.).
- Experience working with real-time operating systems (RTOS) like FreeRTOS.
- Solid understanding of communication protocols: I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, USB.
- Familiarity with reading hardware schematics and PCB-level interactions.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to embedded Linux or bare-metal systems.
- Knowledge of safety-critical systems.
- Scripting experience (C/C++, Python, Bash) for automation or build tools.
